Mom and Dad were here for the week-end and we got some home projects done.
Dad built some basic shelves in the downstairs hall closet which I am very excited about. They may not look exciting, but try to imagine everything on them in a big pile before the shelves were installed. I didn't think to take a before picture, but you can imagine the jumble.
Meanwhile, Mommy and I painted the dining room, entry way and upstairs hall as well as the corner of the living room I hadn't finished earlier. The color is the same beige (Eurolinen , its called) as the family room and kitchen. You kind have to look closely in the pictures to see that the walls and trim are now a different color, but I swear it looks really warmer in person now that everything isn't white anymore.
I also go inspired and hung the city prints in the dining room as well as some other pictures in the entry hall and my diplomas in the new office. These are the first things that have gone on the walls in the nearly one year we have lived here! Miran said it feels more homey now. The gaps in the city print collage are for images of Rome and Florence that I need to get framed.
We didn't just work this time. We managed to squeeze in a mother's day trip to the ballet Friday night and a family outing to the new modern art museum in town as well.
