Workshop Table

We have a very nice workshop in a small room in the corner of our carport. It has double doors opening up to the backyard.

The week-end we moved in Dad and Miran built a table for his workshop. Here are some shots of the men at work!

Moving Day!

On Saturday we moved in. We had a bunch of friends as well as Mom and Dad come help us and believe it or not by 11:30 am we were completely done. Miran backed the truck right up to the front door and the guys just walked everything right in. I stood in the foyer and told them where to take everything.

Of course that means everything was in the house by midday Saturday ... but many things still have not been put away. The dining room is curently the staging area where al the boxes are waiting for me to sort through them and find homes for all our stuff! Here is a view of our dining room now - we don't have any furniture for our dining or living room anyway so there is no hurry to make room!

First Guests

A few friends came over a few days after closing to play board games on the floor of our new house. We hadn't moved in yet and had no furniture - but it was nice to show off our new place.

Homeowners!

As everyone already knows, we bought a house in late May ... so I figured the first picture I post on our brand new blog should be our brand new house!

After a year and a half of active searching, we finally found this house, which totally works for us, is in a nice location, is in great shape, and which we could afford! Immediately after the closing we decided to drive over to our house since they had given us our keys. As we pulled up to the house we were suprised to be confronted by a couple of cranes busytaking down one of our two fabulous, 100-year old trees. I lept out of the car to figure out what was going on, but unfortunately it had root rot and they were concerned it would fall on our house. The good news is that the city paid to remove it since apparantly they actually own the trees. Here is a picture of the cranes and another of the yard when we first saw the house and it had two big trees !
