We seem to be regulars in the surgery department lately. Yesterday was Miran's turn. He had a thyroglossal duct cyst removed from his neck. Basically, what we originally thought was just an oversized Adam's apple, turned out to be a cyst that resulted from a small opening at the base of his tongue that he has had from birth. Tiny bits of saliva had slipped down into his throat and caused a cyst to grow, which he had removed.
Here is a baseline picture of his neck we can compare to the final results later ...
And here are a couple of pictures of him ready for surgery ...
And finally one of him with his big bandage last night (its kind of dark). He goes in this afternoon to have a drainage port removed and have this big bandage replaced for something smaller.

Azra update
So about a month ago Azra finally got her driver's license and she has been on the road non-stop ever since. She is off to school, to meet friends, to run errands, to take Milada somewhere, or to go to her new part time job as a hostess at a Spanish restaurant.
Last night Miran, Milada and I went to the restuarant to try it out and see her in action. I took pictures when she took us to our table and gave us menues, and as we were leaving I took a picture of her taking reservations.

for the kids
On a lighter note, here is one last picture from our trip to the Czech Republic that I forgot to post earlier.
We took this one for Maggie and Ingrid and Anthony. Uncle Miran met Harry Potter on the streets of Prague ...

Bad news, again
I went in for the blood test about 7:30 this morning and just got the call that the test was indeed negative. Which confirmed what we'd already realized this week-end. I tested again Sunday and it was also negative. One might have been a fluke, but two negative home tests was pretty convincing. So I've been sad a bit since Sunday. Sad and frustrated and angry. I'm not sure what is next for us, but we'll keep everyone posted.
