Here are a series of photos from today showing Miran tilling the garden and then the exciting delivery of 9 cubic yards of top soil blended with compost. Our friend Mark generously was here to help (the other guy in some of the pictures is the truck driver). The pictures are pretty self-explainitory, I'll just mention that the first time the truck dumped the driver forgot to unchain the back, so it had to be lowered and then took some time to dig out the dirt behind the door and release enough pressure to get the chains off. After the truck left it took Miran and Mark half an hour or more to level out the dirt, but almost of all of it landed inside the frame so that was good. It was nearly 90 degrees here today so it was hot for me just standing there watching them (I did shovel a little).

Vegtable Garden
As many of you know Miran has been working on a master plan for a vegtable garden that is quite elaborate. He made huge progress on building the frame for the raised bed today. Its 12' x 24' - and this is a scaled down version of the first plan. I sat out there with him for a few hours this afternoon grading papers and hopping up every time he needed someone to hold something. Azra held things steady for him later while I made dinner.
Below are three pictures taken today showing his progress as well as one detail showing the amazing strategy he developed for securing the landscape timbers in place with rebar.

Azra !
And now Azra's room is really complete because Azra is in it!
She arrived on Thursday night and finished unpacking her suitcases today. I think she found room for all her stuff in the dresser and closet. So far we haven't done anything other than go to costco, but I guess that means she is just folding into our normal life!

Summer !
I'm glad winter is over and I don't want to complain, but its been over 80 for the past few days here and I feel like we skipped spring and went stratight to summer. Here are some pictures of Miran doing summery things outside - like watering our new tree in the handy bag the city gave us and washing his car.
And here is a picture of my car covered in pollen ... the day after Miran washed it. I guess that was a waste of time. And seeing this one days worth of pollen on the car explains why both of us are so overwhelmed by allergies right now .... stuffy nose, itchy eyes, scratchy throat ... everything!

Azra's Room
Well I finally finished putting together furniture and decorating Azra's bedroom and bathroom. Miran helped me hang the mirror over the dresser and get some stubborn screws in the desk and then I could call accessorize! The walls are a bit bare, but she can pick out her own posters or other wall hangings. I sure hope she likes it when she arrives on Thursday evening. We can't believe that in just three days she'll be here!
